Child/Family Wellness
Honoring the heart, soul, and spirit of our children, our families, and our future.
After more than three decades of pioneering work in adult wellness, and giving birth to a daughter, Siena, in 1993, Meryn and John realized that the foundations of wellness are determined by how we are conceived, born, and nurtured as infants and children.
They found evidence - cross - cultural, anthropological, and scientific - that many popular parenting practices are based on myths about the nature and needs of infants and children. Practices based on these myths are the source of much of the addiction, depression, violence, chronic illness, and eco - cide that are threatening the wellbeing of our planet.
They simultaneously discovered many vastly more effective and nurturing ways to welcome new beings to the world than those presently used in most industrialized societies. Since that time, they have devoted their energy to enhancing the wellness of infants and children. This is wellness at the primary prevention level.
In this area, we dispel many popular myths. You will also find book synopsis and reviews, as well as feature articles from contributors.
Besides this information, we offer short reviews of likeminded books for children of all ages.
