Introduction - Moving

It's no fun. . . It's for athletes. . . I'm too busy, etc. . . . - Anonymous Couch Potato

Everything in us is moving. Our heart pumps, blood flows, lungs expand and contract, eyes scan, eardrums vibrate. To be alive is to be moving. Inhibit the movement and you create illness. Stop it and you are dead. Allow it fully and you realize wellness.

In his wonderful book, Stalking the Wild Pendulum, Itzhak Bentov takes us on a journey inside the human body. We find ourselves immersed in a sea of atoms . . . weaving back and forth like a field of ripe wheat blown by the wind. They move in unison and in beautiful rhythm." Moving inside an atom, we discover there also that ". . . everything is in a constant, very rapid, but very orderly motion."

Because of this movement, everything is changing from moment to moment. To block movement, therefore, is to block change. The moving river cleanses itself. The unmoving water becomes the stagnant pool. The moving body freely channels the energy of life. The unmoving body becomes a home for infection and depression.
