Consensus Reality
If history teaches anything, it teaches that the consensus reality, in almost any age, has been woefully inadequate; that those whose minds were open to alternate visions of the way things are" have been our greatest teachers, our most powerful agents of change. The hard-and-fast view of reality held by contemporaries of Copernicus and Galileo led them to ridicule the dreams these great thinkers revealed. Perhaps you are ready now to take the next step in furthering your own break with consensus reality. If so, here, for you to consider, are four theories and some related axioms that depart from traditional thinking: - Theory 1: Everything is connected because everything is one.
- Theory 2: We shape our own reality.
- Theory 3: Everything is in process.
- Theory 4: Falling apart is often a prelude to falling together.
These theories are not really new ideas . . . they have been part and parcel of mystical understanding for ages. What is new is that today they are receiving support from the research of scientists - notably physicists, psychologists, and medical doctors. All are related in some way to the transcendental experience and have implications for wellness. Religion only seems different if you're dealing with a retailer. If you deal with a wholesaler, they all get it from the same distributor. —Stephen Gaskin
