Healthy Fats
Essential fatty acids can be found in their healthy form in high-quality, cold-pressed, less-processed, non-hydrogenated oils. These may include extra-virgin olive oil, flax oil, sesame oil, and fish oils such as from canned sardines or wild (not farmed) salmon - but read the labels on bulk oils to be sure they meet the above criteria and are not hydrogenated or even partially hydrogenated. These fats supply us with cancer-fighting vitamins A and E, aid in the production of healthy hair and skin, and give the liver the necessary building blocks for a vast number of chemical processes, including the production of hormones and brain neurotransmitters, and energy production within the cells themselves. For extraordinary mental and physical health, most of the components in the biochemical cascade of fat metabolism absolutely depend upon the regular (almost daily) intake of balanced varieties and proper quantities of essential fatty acids from healthy fats and oils. This is nonnegotiable.
Fruits like avocados, fresh coconuts, and olives supply these healthy fats in a pure form that is both easy to take and delicious. And fish and poultry (especially if raised in unpolluted environments) are also a much healthier source of naturally healthy fat than is red meat.
