Balloon Walk

Because there is entirely too much seriousness attached to many forms of exercise, most exercise ceases to be play. The following piece was created by our friend Kenneth Maue and is used here with permission. We offer it to you as a playful reminder, an alternative.

Go on a balloon walk. Start anywhere, with a sturdy balloon and some extras. Blow up the balloon, then release it, letting it scoot wherever it goes. After the balloon lands, walk to that place. Then do the process again - blow up the balloon, release it, walk to where it lands.

You may also add something specific to do at each place the balloon lands, such as touching your toes or jumping into the air.

If you are a musician, you may take your instrument and play for a bit at each spot.

Continue until you are finished, then end.

. . . the waves are really dancing the measure of a tune. —Havelock Ellis
